I have an Honors degree in Biomedical Science and a passion for teaching and helping others. I am very easy going, patient and have effective communication skills. When I teach, I like to keep the lesson fun and interactive. I believe that the best way a person learns is if they fully understand and enjoy the way the topics are being taught. This helps to embed the content into my students’ long term memories. I strongly believe that a thorough understanding provides the foundation for confidently and accurately answering exam questions. I encourage my students to connect with Biology by relating it to their daily lives, so that the content is more meaningful and applicable to them. I like to simplify complex ideas by mapping them out using diagrams to help my students visualize new concepts and to see the wider context. After completing a topic I like to set out exam style questions under timed conditions to get an understanding of how much my student has learnt and to identify weakness areas. It is important for me to identify my tutees’ individual goals and tailor my lessons to suit their needs. I really look forward to developing a strong rapport with my students’, so that they feel comfortable asking any questions to maximize their learning experience.
